Love, Not Hate Thursday, Oct 16 2008

This issue is in NO WAY intended to be “homophobic” or “hateful.”  In fact, it is quite the opposite.  When a person warns another of danger, it is a loving act.  We are trying to warn those involved in homosexual behavior of its dangers, both physically and spiritually, out of a heart of love.  We are not ashamed to say that homosexuality is offensive to God and will be punished, but we understand that all sin is offensive to God and worthy of his wrath.

None of us needs to stay in our sins.  God has provided a way out through the sacrifice of his son, Jesus.  He bore the wrath of God for sinners so that they would not have to.  He was raised from the dead to prove that he had power over both sin and death.  This power is given to us through Christ when we repent and believe.

We no longer have to stay bound to sins like homosexuality, or greed, or lust, or gossip, or pride.  We can be free from these prisons!  It is NOT unloving to point out certain danger and urge someone to avoid it.  We love homosexuals, and that is why we printed this paper.

Repent of your sins and believe the truth about Jesus Christ, for the sake of your own soul!

What Does the Bible Say? Thursday, Oct 16 2008

What does the Bible say?

Why is it that homosexuality is a sin?  It is very, very clear in the Bible that God does not tolerate homosexual practices.  The first indication of this is in the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis chapter 19.  Two other verses that show that homosexual behavior is condemned by God is in Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13.  Chapter 18 verse 22 tells us that homosexual sex is an abomination to the Lord.  Something that is important to understand is that God does not discriminate between homosexual sex outside of marriage or in marriage; its still homosexual sex, which God strictly forbids.

The main passage in the New Testament that deals with homosexuality is Romans 1:24-27.  Here, the Bible describes homosexual desires as dishonorable passions and explicitly outlaws homosexual activity between two women or between two men.  Most important of all, the Bible soberly declares in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that those who practice homosexuality, along with other types of sin such as immoral heterosexual behavior and robbery, will not inherit the kingdom of God.

However, in verse 11, we see that all of these sins, including homosexuality can be forgiven:  And such were some of you.  But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.  Jesus Christ can forgive your sins, whatever they are, if you repent and believe.  He can also change your desires and make you a new creation.

It’s Natural Thursday, Oct 16 2008

“Its Natural”

People often justify homosexuality because “it’s natural” or “I was born like this.” This doesn’t seem true for a number of reasons.  For one thing, it can’t be natural because a homosexual lifestyle won’t produce offspring. Many claim that the purpose of life is to survive; by being homosexual, one is not doing that at all. A museum called the Oslo Natural History Museum features an exhibit that presents several “examples” of beetles, giraffes, penguins, and parrots engaging in behavior that might be called homosexual. This, all of a sudden,

justifies homosexuality because it happens in nature.  Animals do it, so that justifies it for humans! Well, that logic opens up a lot of possibilities for the human race. Now, we can eat our kids if we want to, because that’s what 10% of the adult Komodo dragon’s diet consists of: juvenile Komodo dragons. Female praying mantises and black widow spiders kill and eat the male after mating with him. And a good deal of male animals fight and kill sexual rivals. You can see the flawed logic here. Humans don’t want to mimic animal behavior and animal behavior does not justify human behavior.

Another argument that is used often is: “I was born a homosexual.” Whether or not this is true is beside the point.  A person could say, “I was born a pedophile” (an adult who likes to have sex with children).  Are his actions justified because he thinks he was born this way?  Some actually say they were born pedophiles. If you justify homosexuality with this logic, then you justify being a pedophile.

It’s Suicide! By Veritas

There are many diseases associated with a homosexual lifestyle. A few are gonorrhea, syphilis, hepatitis A&B, AIDS, amoebiasis, herpes simplex virus-2, and human papillomavirus. Note that these are only a few of the diseases caused by a gay lifestyle, and these are only diseases that are directly related to a gay lifestyle. There are many more diseases linked to homosexuality.

Let’s start with gonorrhea. Gonorrhea, if left untreated, can cause permanent damage.

“In women, gonorrhea is a common cause of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). About one million women each year in the United States develop PID. The symptoms may be quite mild or can be very severe and can include abdominal pain and fever. PID can lead to internal abscesses (pus-filled “pockets” that are hard to cure) and long-lasting, chronic pelvic pain. PID can damage the fallopian tubes enough to cause infertility or increase the risk of ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy is a life-threatening condition in which a fertilized egg grows outside the uterus, usually in a fallopian tube.

In men, gonorrhea can cause epididymitis, a painful condition of the ducts attached to the testicles that may lead to infertility if left untreated.

Gonorrhea can spread to the blood or joints. This condition can be life threatening. In addition, people with gonorrhea can more easily contract HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. HIV-infected people with gonorrhea can transmit HIV more easily to someone else than if they did not have gonorrhea.” -The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

Syphilis is another painful, uncomfortable disease caused by homosexuality.

The primary stage of syphilis is usually marked by the appearance of a single sore (called a chancre), but there may be multiple sores…[it] is usually firm, round, small, and painless…

Skin rash and mucous membrane lesions characterize the secondary stage. This stage typically starts with the development of a rash on one or more areas of the body.… The characteristic rash of secondary syphilis may appear as rough, red, or reddish brown spots both on the palms of the hands and the bottoms of the feet.… In addition to rashes, symptoms of secondary syphilis may include fever, swollen lymph glands, sore throat, patchy hair loss, headaches, weight loss, muscle aches, and fatigue…. without treatment, the infection will progress to the latent and possibly late stages of disease.

The latent (hidden) stage of syphilis begins when primary and secondary symptoms disappear. Without treatment, the infected person will continue to have syphilis even though there are no signs or symptoms; infection remains in the body.  This latent stage can last for years.  The late stages of syphilis can develop in about 15% of people who have not been treated for syphilis, and can appear 10-20 years after infection was first acquired.  In the late stages of syphilis, the disease may damage the internal organs, including the brain, nerves, eyes, heart, blood vessels, liver, bones, and joints. Signs and symptoms of the late stage of syphilis include difficulty coordinating muscle movements, paralysis, numbness, gradual blindness, and dementia. This damage may be serious enough to cause death.” -CDC

Hepatitis A & B are also related to a gay lifestyle. Although Hepatitis A is easily curable and has no long term effects, Hepatitis B is very dangerous. Some of the effects of Hepatitis B are as follows: infection for life, scars on liver, liver cancer, failure of the liver, and death. There is no treatment for acute Hep B. There are treatments from chronic Hep B, but they cannot reverse damage that was already done.
